PALTmed Leadership Program

PALTmed’s leadership program seeks to identify and develop future volunteer leaders of the association. The program features both didactic learning and engagement with PALTmed programs.

Program Goals and Objectives

  • Identify diverse, emerging member leaders and prepare them for PALTmed leadership and volunteerism
  • Encourage the pursuit of future leadership positions
  • Educate participants on PALTmed history, governance structure and what it means to be a volunteer leader

Seeking Participants Who Are… 

  • PALTmed members in good standing for at least three years
  • Interested in serving as a leader within PALTmed (committee chair, task force leader, board member) or a chapter (president, treasurer).  

Selection Requirements and Process

  • Applicants will complete application which includes:
    • CV
    • Personal statements describing why they should be chosen
    • Recommendation from a PALTmed member (short statement of support)
  • Up to 6 applicants will be chosen for the program
  • Individuals are selected based upon the strengths, enthusiasm and relevance of their personal statement, and the commitment to PALTmed and chapter leadership
  • After program completion, participants will be expected to be active in the following year’s Leadership Program, as well as hold a voluntary position within PALTmed (committee, task force, leadership program mentor, etc.).

Proposed Timeline

  • Application Period: December 2025
  • Notification: January 2025
  • Kick-off Program Meeting: March 2026 (at PALTC26)
  • Online Learning Period: April – August 2026
  • Advocacy Summit: October 2026
  • Online Learning Period: November 2026 – January 2027
  • Program Wrap-up: March 2026 (at PALTC27)
