THEREBY BE IT RESOLVED, that Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medical Association (PALTmed) supports performance review conducted under the auspices of the Quality Assessment & Assurance process for all attending physicians caring for residents in long-term care facilities, including performance review of the medical director when the medical director is also serving as attending physician;
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that medical directors should provide guidance in the development and implementation of policies on oversight and review of attending physician services, including those situations when the medical director is the attending physician.
