THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medical Association (PALTmed) establish a position paper in regards to stage 3 or 4 pressure ulcers and death associated with falls preventability in the long-term care setting;

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that PALTmed recommend to state chapters that the use of the PALTmed guidelines on Pressure Ulcers and Falls be used in order to follow a care process to be able to show when a pressure ulcer or fall was unavoidable;

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that PALTmed express its concerns regarding preventability and the possibility of non-reimbursement for these conditions to Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
