THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medical Association (PALTmed) collaborate with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to create educational tools and programs to promote the broad and appropriate implementation of non-pharmacological techniques and pharmacotherapy to manage behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia throughout the long term care continuum.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that PALTmed support efforts to provide additional research on medications and non-drug alternatives to address behavioral problems and other issues with patients with dementia.
