THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medical Association (PALTmed) supports a mandatory annual influenza vaccination for every long-term care healthcare worker who has direct patient contact unless a medical contraindication or religious objection exists.

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medical Association (PALTmed) recommends that medical directors and other practitioners encourage caregivers (both professional health care workers and family caregivers) to obtain these vaccinations. 
Reaffirms Policy in Immunizations in the Long Term Care Setting Toolkit.

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medical Association (PALTmed) recommends that vaccinations be made available and offered at no cost to staff working in long-term care settings.
