The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has released performance feedback and final scores for the 2025 Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) performance year. Your 2025 final score determines whether you receive a positive, neutral, or negative adjustment to payments for covered professional services furnished in 2027. CMS expects to make the specific 2027 payment adjustments available in approximately one month.
To review your score, sign in to the Quality Payment Program (QPP) website with your HARP credentials, select “View Feedback,” and choose your organization. Practice representatives can view individual, subgroup, and group feedback. Representatives of a Medicare Shared Savings Program accountable care organization (ACO) may need access through the ACO Management System; a participant practice cannot view its ACO’s feedback unless its representative has been approved for the appropriate ACO role.
Check your score promptly. If you believe CMS made an error, you can request a targeted review through the “Targeted Review” option in QPP. Possible reasons include data submitted under the wrong taxpayer identification number or National Provider Identifier, an incorrect MIPS eligibility determination, or a performance category that was not reweighted despite an applicable exception. Gather documentation that supports your request.
The targeted review period is expected to remain open for approximately 60 days and will close 30 days after CMS releases the 2027 payment adjustments. CMS has not yet announced that release date or the resulting targeted review deadline. Members should review their feedback now rather than wait for the payment adjustment notice.
