We are excited to share some important updates regarding Caring for the Ages, our much-loved magazine. As mentioned in the October issue, Caring will discontinue its print edition starting in 2026. In the new year, Caring will become an e-only publication. While the look and feel will change, you can rest assured that the PALTmed Board and the Foundation for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine are committed to ensuring that the valuable content of Caring continues to serve our membership. Expect a new format, old and new faces, and exciting new content! We appreciate your patience while we work out the details.

We decided to make this change due to increasing production, paper, and distribution costs, combined with declining advertising revenue, which make continued print operations unsustainable. Archived content will remain available at https://www.caringfortheages.com/

We want to thank the team at Elsevier for their continued commitment to Caring over the years. We will greatly miss our most recent managing editor, Tess Bird, DPhil, who has expertly helped our writers perfect their work for the last four years. Tess has moved into a new role at Elsevier.

We also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our esteemed editor in chief, Elizabeth Galik, PhD, CRNP, for her outstanding work over the past five years. Her interdisciplinary vision for Caring has made the magazine a widely read and appreciated publication and Beth will also be moving on to new and exciting endeavors at the University of Maryland. You can read her parting comments in her last Caring Collaborative in this issue.
