The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has announced a temporary pause in the monthly updates to the Nursing Home Care Compare Five-Star Rating System. This pause is part of CMS’ transition to a new, cloud-based platform, the Internet Quality Improvement and Evaluation System (iQIES).
To maintain the accuracy and reliability of publicly reported information during this transition, updates to Nursing Home Care Compare were paused effective July 30, 2025, and are expected to resume in October 2025. This brief pause will allow CMS to ensure that nursing home quality data continues to be reported with the highest standards of accuracy and transparency.
