To provide insight into the point prevalence of bacteriuria in frail older adults residing in Dutch nursing homes (NHs), to describe identified bacteria, and to investigate possible associations between resident characteristics and asymptomatic bacteriuria (ASB).
As people age, rates of morbidity and mortality are heterogenous. Balance and strength performance may contribute to this, offering modifiable risk factors for mortality. We aimed to compare relationships of balance and strength performance with all-cause and cause-specific mortality.
Self-perceived balance confidence (BC) and gait speed influence falls. Whether they modulate each other in fall prediction stays uncertain. This study examined whether and how BC modulated the association between gait speed and falls.
